On a sunny Saturday afternoon in July (the first day of vacation), we were the only people here. But the water was teeming with life! It's a wonderful spot; I almost don't want to recommend it, so it stays this beautiful forever 🤩 The circular path is natural but well-maintained.

The grounds, with their large garden, picnic area, demonstration biotope, and interactive stations, are barrier-free and accessible to visitors at all times. Quoted from NABU Station Münsterland - NABU NRW https://share.google/y15gyY77wVsWtkwG We really enjoyed it! There's so much to learn thanks to the numerous information panels, and it's blooming, croaking, and buzzing like crazy now in July. Thanks to ample parking and its wheelchair and mobility-impaired accessibility, it's also ideal for a nature visit with seniors.

During summer, the dense woodlands provide welcome shade, and in autumn, the 'Forest Trails in the Davert Nature Reserve' are known for their 'dreamlike autumn colors'.
Yes, there are several short and easy options. For instance, the Heidhornsee Rest Area – Davert Nature Trail loop from Hiltrup is just under 3.4 km and takes about 50 minutes. Another great choice is the Davert Nature Trail – Heidhornsee Rest Area loop from Die Davert - ein Waldjuwel im Münsterland, which is around 3.2 km and can be completed in about 45 minutes. These routes are perfect for a leisurely family outing.
Families can enjoy several points of interest. The NABU Vegetable Garden Münsterland offers an interactive experience with local flora and fauna, a picnic area, and a demonstration biotope. While some paths might be suitable, the Davert's natural landscape includes varied terrain. For the most comfortable experience with a stroller, look for routes explicitly described as 'stroller-friendly' or those that follow wider, well-maintained gravel paths. The Gravel Path Through Davert Forest highlight suggests such terrain exists.
Warendorfer Davert is enjoyable throughout the year. Spring brings fresh greenery and blooming flora, while summer offers cooling shade under the dense tree canopy. Autumn is particularly beautiful with its 'dreamlike autumn colors,' making it a visually stunning time for a hike. Even in winter, a crisp walk through the quiet woodlands can be a wonderful experience.
The Davert is a nature reserve, so while dogs are generally welcome, it's important to keep them on a leash to protect the local wildlife and ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors. Always check local signage for specific rules in certain areas.
The 'Wanderparkplatz Weidelandschaft Davert' is an ideal starting point for many trails and offers convenient parking. From there, you can easily access various routes and attractions like the 'Wildbahn Davert' viewing platform.
