Unfortunately, the path is currently a dead end. We continued along the edge of the field anyway. After that, however, the hike is good again. It's still a shame that there isn't a well-maintained section of the path there, especially if you're traveling with a stroller.

On the so-called "upper" Ems (before the weir), there is only one official exit for canoeists, just after the bridge (overflow) that separates the Emssee from the Ems! After that, there's another official exit after the weir!

A wonderfully large lake with a beautifully landscaped park, plenty of resting places, and all kinds of waterfowl. I even saw nutrias. A top destination in Warendorf!

The historic water tower was built in 1908 and is a listed building. After major corrosion damage at the age of almost 100 years (2002), it was completely renovated and thus preserved as an industrial monument. In 2018, storm "Frederike" hit it so hard that its roof also had to be re-covered.
