The observation tower near Zießau is located on the path between the circular trail and Lake Arend. At approximately eight meters high, it offers a view of the lake, but is not located directly on the shore. The Zießau boat dock is nearby, a great place to linger, especially on warm days. Despite its relatively low height, the tower is an interesting destination for visitors who want to enjoy the peace and nature around Lake Arend. The tower is also part of the circular trail around Lake Arend, which leads through fields and forests and also passes by Zießau. The approximately ten-kilometer route is particularly suitable for a bike ride around Lake Arend.

😎A wonderful view from this side of the river. From 1952 onwards, the community was part of the five-kilometre exclusion zone on the inner-German border. Staying in the exclusion zone required a permit. The border with the Federal Republic was practically opened on November 9, 1989 and so we all have this wonderful view.
