Borken heath In the Borkener Heide (Puszcza Borecka) lies the Wisentgehege, which serves as a breeding station for the huge animals. In addition to the bred bisons, there is also a stock of living in freedom bison, as some bison escaped from the enclosure several years ago. Visitors can watch the bisons feed. The opening times depend on the month (May - September, two hours in the morning and in the afternoon). The Borkener Heide can be explored on signposted paths. It is not recommended to leave these trails, as wolves are also traveling in some areas.
