The name Fryderyk Chopin Manor refers to one of the buildings that was once part of the complex of public buildings around the Spa Park. Since its foundation, which took place between 1802-1805, the theatre has set the rhythm for the cultural life of the entire spa town. It has also witnessed many important events – it was there that 16-year-old Fryderyk Chopin performed in 1826, when he visited Duszniki-Zdrój with his mother and sisters. Chopin's Manor, then simply the spa theatre, was the venue for a public charity concert with the participation of a pianist for the children of the widowed clothier Josef Schoor. This event, considered to be Chopin's first foreign concert (Lower Silesia belonged to Prussia at the time), had such a wide resonance that it was even described in Warsaw newspapers.
