Beautiful, peaceful, quiet place. A castle that doesn't have to be climbed up a hill.

Very nice paved railway cycle path on the former railway line from Žďár to Přibyslav. Unfortunately no continuation directly to Žďár. The castle was built in the middle of the 14th century on a small hill surrounded on three sides by the river Svratka. Since 1519, the castle is listed as deserted. A massive three-story perimeter wall with clearly visible windows and loopholes, as well as the remains of the tower and ramparts, have been preserved to this day.

The water reservoir was created for the purpose of regulating the flow in the Svratka basin, preventing floods and using the water flow for energy. Originally, its recreational use was considered, but right at the beginning of its operation, its importance was supplemented by its use for water supply purposes. Vír I is part of a set of connected buildings that enable comprehensive use of the water resource. The construction of the waterworks began in 1947 and ended in 1957. The main element of the ensemble is a concrete gravity dam 66.2 m high, its crown is 9 m wide and 390 m long. 5 m). One of the construction managers was the later writer Zdeněk Pluhař, who wrote the novel Blue Valley about the construction.
