A beautiful little hike if you don't "have to" climb the peaks 🤪 but just want to see something beautiful. But be careful, because it's easily accessible, there's more foot traffic here than at Rachelsee or Latschensee. But less than at Großer Arbersee.🐑🐾🐾

The Enzian Wies is really just a meadow but it is located at 1210 m. Perhaps a few gentians grow there in season, otherwise it only has the name because of the gentian hill.

Yes, the region offers several easy dog-friendly trails. While specific 'easy' routes are not detailed in the provided data, you can find 3 easy tours among the 42 available. These are generally shorter and have less elevation gain, making them suitable for smaller dogs or those looking for a relaxed walk.
Absolutely. Many of the trails are designed as loops, allowing you to start and end at the same point. For example, the popular Glacial Lakes Loop is an 8-kilometer trail that takes you past both Černé and Čertovo jezero. Another option is the Trifter Inn Schwellhäusl – Border shelter in the Šumava Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Šumava) loop, which offers a moderate circular experience.
The primary attractions are the two glacial lakes, Černé Jezero (Black Lake) and Čertovo Jezero (Devil's Lake), which are the only glacial lakes in the Czech Republic. You can also explore the unique forest communities and, if you venture towards Mount Špičák, enjoy panoramic views from the lookout tower. Some routes, like the View of the Kleiner Arbersee – Seilerbach Waterfalls loop, even feature waterfalls.
Due to the area's designation as a National Nature Reserve and its rich biodiversity, including rare plant and animal species, dogs are generally required to be kept on a leash. This helps protect the delicate ecosystem and ensures the safety of both your dog and the local wildlife.
The reserve is beautiful year-round. Spring and autumn offer pleasant temperatures and vibrant foliage, while summer provides longer daylight hours. Winter hiking is also possible, with the snow-covered landscape creating a unique experience, though some trails might be more challenging. Always check local conditions before heading out.

You can also consider routes like the Trifter Inn Schwellhäusl loop which starts from Bahnhof Bayerisch Eisenstein / Železná Ruda - Alžbětín, a public transport hub.
The area is highly rated by the komoot community, with an average score of 4.6 stars from over 15,000 ratings. These trails typically feature greater elevation gains and longer distances, such as the View of the Kleiner Arbersee – Little Arber Lake loop from Bayerisch Eisenstein, which covers over 17 km with significant ascent.
While the main glacial lakes can be popular, exploring trails that venture slightly further from the immediate lake areas or visiting during off-peak hours (early mornings, weekdays, or outside of peak season) can offer a more tranquil experience. The steep, rocky path from Černé jezero to the more secluded Čertovo Jezero might also be less crowded than the main loop.
