In 1922, the Norwegian Wegart began cutting stone on Sandö. The company had a maximum capacity of 74 men. In 1925, the first load of paving stones was shipped to Argentina. The paving stones were transported by horse and cart across the island to the steamboat pier. The path that is now used for walking and jogging was built at that time. The paving stone era ended in Smögen in 1929. You can still walk on streets in Buenos Aires whose stones were cut on Smögen or in Bohuslän.

We didn't try it out. It was a bit stormy and cold. But it looks inviting.

Very beautiful path that you can buy as a small circular route. One section leads over the stones and rocks and offers fantastic views of the rough sea where the waves break and one path is even suitable for wheelchairs and is sheltered from the wind and faces inland. There you also have a beautiful view over the vast stone and rock desert.

Here you have a great view of the sea. It is particularly interesting in windy but sunny weather when the waves break on the rocks of the islands.
