April 25, 2025, Descent in Glasbury With Views of Hay Bluff and the Wye Valley

This is a super nice stretch of road with grand views out over the Wye Valley and over towards Hay Bluff. This is also a quiet stretch of road too.

A popular swimming spot on the River Wye.

Check the petrol station opening times if you're relying on it for resupply. Foyles pub looks a bit posh, but plenty of places to sit outside if you've been on the bike for a few days and stink. Also a few wild camp spots along the river here.

Glasbury is a stunning location on the River Wye just short of Hay On Wye. A great starting place for a canoe trip down the Wye. The cafe and facilities at Wye Valley Canoes are first class.

Gorgeous little walk along the river, as you follow it there's a little table bench and an array of rock-piles which are nice to sit by and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Welsh Countryside.
