Tips from the Community

Alex Foxfield
November 8, 2020, St Mary's Church, Woodkirk

A grade II listed building, St Mary's was originally built sometime during the early twelth century. Storm damage forced a rebuild during the 1930s. The Leeds Country Way passes through the eleven-and-a-half-acre churchyard.

This is one of those surprising old world sections - an old farm lane between two fields, stone walling either side and, best of all, the view. Here you get views right across Leeds centre. A sunny day up here and you wouldn't think you were only a few miles from Leeds City Centre.
