The cafe sprung from the local village's need to raise some money to fix the village hall, it opened with home made cakes brought on the day by the residents. They fixed the hall and created a brilliant cyclists' cafe. Today, the cafe welcomes cyclists who have made the effort to climb the hill. They serve hot and cold drinks, locally made cakes, sandwiches and soup. Open all year but weekends only from 10:00 - 15:00.

If you like a challenge thin this is a decent climb to add to the route. Apparentley used in the National Hill Climb Championships recently we hit it in the last 20mls of our ride on tired legs but once at the top it opens out into some fantastic rolling roads on the way home.
