Beautiful view, which you only have to share with a few midges ;-)

Here I spent a night on the West Highland Way. In the evening there was a mix of sun, clouds and rain and the panoramic view into the Loch was spectacular. Only the midges were really annoying.

I had 3 days of continuous rain on my West Highland Way - and at this point there was correspondingly a lot of water. Therefore, great idea with the stones.

The historic route workers took to the pub after receiving their paychecks. It was arduous in winter, and even dangerous when drunk.

The West Highland Way is a tough highland route that stretches 96 miles (154 km) from Milngavie near Glasgow all the way to Fort William. The scenery takes in a huge variety of scenery along the way, from the serene shores of Loch Lomond, crosses Rannoch Moor, and meanders its way through the more familiar, rugged heights of the highlands. It is a well-waymarked route for its entire length, and it avoids the high tops, so the route is within the capabilities of most walkers. It is still, however, a hard undertaking, but a worth while one.
