This small, tree-lined pond is the smaller of two ponds along McDonough Road. The larger Walnut Pond has a paved loop trail that goes around it, but this one is a very nice sight along the road if you are just following the bikeway.

You'll get beautiful views of this lake to the south as you cycle along Otis Road. New Sutton Road passes along the south side of the lake, but the trees are thicker there so you don't get the same views.

Shoe Factory Nature Reserve has a lovely range of flora and fauna to spot whilst cycling safely along the road. If you'd like to take a break off the bike head south on foot on the eastern end of the segment into the reserve.

The views across to Fox River and beyond are fantastic from here. It is especially good as the sun sets. Keep your eyes peeled for the varied bird life around the river.
