Tips from the Community

Tourismus Biberach
April 1, 2025, Mariä Himmelfahrt Church, Ringschnait

Church of the Assumption of Mary: The present church was rebuilt between 1719 and 1721 by Abbot Beda Werner and consecrated on July 21, 1725, in honor of the Virgin Mary. The tower is built on three sides and has a gable roof. The church has a single nave with a recessed and closed choir, a flat ceiling, a round-arched chancel arch, and matching windows. The altarpiece, painted by Franz Carl Stauder of Constance, came to Ringschnait from Feldkirch. Like the tower, it was taken from the old church and depicts Mary with the Child. The largest of the four bells, popularly known as the Hosanna Bell, dates back to 1576. An interior renovation will take place in 2024, and the 300th anniversary of the consecration will be celebrated in 2025.

The Krummbach and the walk along it are really idyllic and beautiful. Ideal to combine with a visit to the former monastery.

Wonderful walk along the Krummbach. In fact, it once served the monks of the imperial abbey for quiet contemplation.

Beautiful, quite extensive monastery complex, which is absolutely worth seeing. When you get the chance, be sure to visit the exhibitions in the “fruit box”, where some really unexpectedly great art exhibitions are curated for the “province”.

One wonders why some users here mark every park bench as a highlight... Well, that's the way it should be. I'm just commenting on this thing here... At least I put my girlfriend on the bench in my photo of this "highlight". She is ACTUALLY a highlight - but I have to point out that she doesn't ALWAYS sit there ;-) Without Madame, the bank is rather unspectacular...
