It's good that the oxbow still has a connection to the straightened Spree River. This allows the water to be better contained within the landscape.

It's very beautiful to see the Spree in such beautiful weather. Everything seems so peaceful.

Unfortunately, there's no view. We recommend the observation tower.

There are different reports about the year the church was built. The Dehio handbook says that the sacred building was built in the first half of the 15th century. However, the plaque in front of the church states that the building was built "probably around 1400" on the foundations of a previous building. The date "1278" on the weather vane and the first documented mention of the community from 1285 suggest that it was built before. There are also conflicting reports about the reconstruction of the windows in the nave. The plaque speaks of an enlargement "around 1750", while the Dehio handbook states the year 1681. At a time not yet known, craftsmen tore down a sacristy on the northeast side of the building. In 1995, roofers renovated the gable roof.
