Great, a bridge over the Vechte🫣🫣🫣😂😂😂 If some people didn't write at bridges, "great opportunity to cross the river", some users would certainly not know how to get to the other side. It is definitely worth planning the bridge into your next tour 😂

The town hall can be admired very well from the terrace area of the Voba (municipal bank).

Nordhorn's town hall is located at Bahnhofstraße 24. It was designed in 1949 by city architect Philipp Krieger and inaugurated in 1951. With this post-war new building, he attempted to incorporate Gothic elements into historical structures. It is the third documented town hall building in the city, each time at a different location. The building is a listed building. In the forecourt of the main entrance is the sculpture "Double Column 1/70" by Erich Hauser from 1970, which is part of the German-Dutch sculpture trail kunstwegen.

In the Nordhorn city center, with the various facilities in Burgstraße – naturally the church, the rectory with the parish office and administration, the nave, the daycare center, the convent, and the community center – we want to be an open and inviting church that considers the views and needs of the people. After the service on the 1st Sunday of the month, we invite you to church coffee in the nave facility. In the Klausheide district, we have been living ecumenism under the roof of the Michaeliskirche for several years. The coexistence of Christian denominations is characterized by great respect and appreciation.

This lock was subsequently enlarged as the demand of the textile industry grew and more ships needed to be locked through. It has four lock gates, two that open toward the Vecht River and two that open toward the Ems-Vechte Canal. This was necessary because the water level on both the Ems and the Vecht sometimes increased.
