From the swing bridge over the Black Water, you have a good view of the canoe course or can watch the ducks drifting with the current. The bridge remains closed during high water.

The Elisabeth Bridge was built in 1723 in the north of Marburg. The postal road to Cölbe and Kassel ran across it. This bridge was rebuilt in 1867 with wide segmental arches. Bahnhofstraße (Station Street) ran over it, connecting the city to the station of the Main-Weser Railway, which was located far outside the city and had been inaugurated on April 3, 1850. Along Bahnhofstraße, two additional stone bridges were built simultaneously over existing millraces, and the entire street was raised by one meter to prevent flooding from obstructing access to the station, as had often been the case previously. Since then, the Elisabeth Bridge has also been called the Bahnhofsbrücke (Station Bridge). Source: https://de.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Marburg/Br%C3%BCcken
