The restoration of the historic clinker street Waldstraße/Garnholter Straße over a length of approx. 2.3 km between Linswege and Groß Garnholt is almost complete. And now it is very well passable. Today I undertook a tour to the newly restored clinker street Garnholt in the direction of Linswege. Previously, it was a challenge to use this road. Although the entire restoration is not yet finished, the roadway is ready. Only ancillary facilities still need to be done. A lot of heart and soul was apparently put into this project. Many thanks to everyone involved. I find it very successful already.

🚲✨ The Lorenz von Ehren and Johann Bruns tree nurseries are two of the world's leading names when it comes to cultivating impressive solitary trees and artfully shaped topiary. If you are out and about in Ammerland (Bad Zwischenahn and Westerstede), you are virtually passing through the 'nursery' for the green landmarks of European metropolises.

🚲✨ The Gießelhorster Kirchweg begins in Westerstede in the area of Karl-Heinz-Ewert-Straße and leads you directly to Gießelhorst. As the path is quite narrow, the motto here particularly applies: “Consideration makes paths wide” – a friendly ring when meeting oncoming traffic is part of it.

🚲✨ The Gießelhorster Kirchweg is one of the most atmospheric and historically rich cycle paths in Ammerland. It connects the village of Gießelhorst with the district town of Westerstede over a length of approx. 3.5 kilometers and offers you a nature experience that almost feels like a journey into the past.

⛵✨ The Zwischenahner Meer – the „Pearl of the Ammerland“ – is, with a water surface of about 5.5 square kilometers, the third largest inland lake in Lower Saxony and the heart of the region. It was formed about 12,000 years ago by the collapse of an underground salt dome, which gave it its almost perfectly circular shape.

⛵✨ If you plan a break during your tour around the Zwischenahner Meer, the restaurant Fährkroog Dreibergen at Dreiberger Straße 25 is an absolute classic. This traditional, thatched-roof inn embodies the "old Ammerland way" and is picturesquely located on the north bank, right where the ferry used to cross the lake.
