Originally built in the 1860s, the Saugerties Lighthouse played an important role in safe travel and navigation for vessels traveling the Hudson River. Today, it stands as a restored structure that was restored in a way to maintain its "look" and history. There is a gift shop and bed and breakfast located within the building.

There is an overlook area with wooden benches of this long, cascading waterfall in the Falling Waters Preserve. This waterfall is probably the main attraction within this preserve.

Ferncliff Forest is a 200-acre old-growth forest that is known for housing Mount Rutsen and its observation tower.

Mount Rutsen is a peak within the Ferncliff Forest with an elevation of 355 feet. There is an observation tower at the summit built by the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey to aid in map making during World War II.

This boardwalk provides access down to the bay and also connects to another service road in the Tivoli Bays Wildlife Management Area. This a beautiful wooded section of trail that is surrounded by a swampy wetland environment.

There is a cool waterfall here just off the side of the trail. The water levels in the creek obviously vary depending on the time of year and how much recent rainfall there has been, but there is always some sort of cascade going.
