Church of St. Marjete stands on top of a hill, in the village of Golo in the municipality of Ig. The building is late baroque, built in the 19th century and was declared a cultural and historical monument in 1997 by decree of the municipal council. The archaeological area around the church was also declared a monument. The finds around the church belong to the prehistoric Hallstatt era. In 1975, they found pieces of pottery, iron slag, and household ornaments. Before that, in 1865, a skeletal grave belonging to the same prehistoric era was also excavated. The church in this place is first mentioned in written sources in 1631, but it is the predecessor of today's church. In 1820, the current baroque church was built on the same spot. The church is built entirely of stone.
