Lavričeva koča (509 m) is located just a few meters below the peak of Gradišče (519 m), the peak on which the church of St. Nicholas stands. From the top, or rather from the hut, a beautiful view opens up towards Ivančna Gorica and part of the hills of Dolenjska and Notranjska.

The Church of St. John the Baptist is a branch church of the Šentvid pri Stični parish, located south of the village of Bukovica on a steep slope. The village of Bukovica lies in a narrow valley north of Šentvid, in the middle of which the Bukovica stream winds. The village itself was mentioned as early as 1225, while the first mention of the Church of St. John the Baptist, located on a steep slope, was only traced back to 1642. Despite the late date of the first mention, it is considered the oldest branch of the Šentvid parish. It was thoroughly rebuilt in the 17th century, thus losing its original Gothic appearance, but it acquired a new vault in the presbytery and nave, was raised and acquired a bell tower. Most of the church's furnishings date from the 19th century, but it still has older liturgical accessories (a mantle, a censer and a chalice), which are also of greater artistic value. There are three bells in the bell tower – two iron bells from 1923 (KID) and one bronze bell. This one has the inscription: "S. MARIA ORA PRO NOBIS" under the baroque decoration on the mantle, then the decoration and relief of John the Baptist, the Mother of God, the Crucified and a soldier, and the inscription LUCAS DIMIZ ME FVDIT LABACI ANNO 1733.

The highest peak in the municipality of Šentrupert is Nebesa (602 m), from where you can enjoy a heavenly view of the Mirna Valley, and you can also see the peaks of southern Slovenia: Gorjanci with Trdinov vrh, Gače, Vrhtrebnje and even Snežnik. The peak is known for its exceptionally beautiful view and is also the highest point of the famous Steklas hiking trail, which runs along the slopes of the Mirna Valley. Directly on the southern part there is also a take-off point for hang gliders and paragliders.
