Friedrichštajn Castle was built in the early 15th century (between 1423 and 1425) by Frederick II , son of Count Herman II of Celje , for his mistress Veronika of Desenička , whom he married after the death of his first wife, Elizabeth of Frankopan .

It's worth getting off your bike for a bit and walking a bit. Fridrihštajn Castle is well worth a visit. Information panels tell you more about its history, and the view is also very beautiful.

The hut is located in a small clearing behind Mestni vrh in the Stojna Mountains. Near the hut is Jelenov studenec, a spring whose water never runs dry.
