Just go around as you like - there are many options. Bu you will see only bananas 😉 We finished the trail with a Poncha at a bar next to one of the PR trails (most of them between 100-400m )

In the meantime, new stepping stones have been laid on the Levada so that you can walk with some degree of safety, as there are no safety devices at all and it is quite steep in places.
