🌴🗿🌹🌳 The very history of this equipment, the chosen site for its construction, already carries within it a memory with many poetic textures that stretch from the plateau, in a land where there were ancient fields of crops and pastures and which descends to the riverside area, the open sea, as a navigation guide. At the top, in what was designated as Morro do Puxa Feixe, stands the Temple of Poetry, like a large white, luminous cathedral. It constitutes a visual landmark and a guiding reference for the entire park and its surroundings due to its unique shapes, strategic positioning, and luminous signage, resembling a lighthouse or a ship, with a huge terrace facing the entrance to the Tagus River and the maritime fortifications. A Greek Temple in the classical manner, on a mount raised above the ocean and reconnecting all things, all the life that flourishes and inhabits not only the Park, but which metamorphoses every minute, creating new semiotics and new territories. The symbology, the simultaneous experience of interiority and exteriority that is felt, is not only mystical, with traces of religiosity, but also profoundly human, profane, and poetic. It is the ideal sacred space to pay homage to poetry, that great muse which constitutes the first form of discourse about the world and the truest. The one that builds the immateriality of emotions and life and gives it body. The one that speaks most appropriately of our finite and ephemeral humanity and gives it meaning. Come visit the Parque dos Poetas. Celebrate life intensely. Poetry is around here. palavras27.oeiras.pt/?page_id=2561

🌴🗿🌹🌳 The 22.5 hectares that constitute this bold project are the result of this dream and a legacy of words, painstakingly crafted by a group of 60 poets who draw a map that we traverse from the Troubadours, of the Renaissance and one of its greatest figures, Luís Vaz de Camões, to the 20th century, with poets like Fernando Pessoa, Ruy Belo, Alexandre O’Neill, Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen or Natália Correia, to name just a few of the best known. There is a whole universe to discover and gather in a vast tapestry of poems written by various hands, over the centuries, forming a book on a grand scale, which is read on the flagstones of the ground, in sculptural installations, in various buildings, in amphitheaters and in all elements fused with nature. The tree is the great symbolic structure that runs through this true Open-Air Museum. Each leaf represents the microcosm of the poet and their meanings. The tree, the stones, the waters constitute the Grove of Symbols where the poetic word is realized and where the nature of the world, of Man and his representations, desires, dreams, anxieties, dramas are realized. Even so, and despite all that can be said, no description dispenses with the aesthetic enjoyment and poetic experience of this place. What each person feels in this Acropolis which gathers, like a great Agora, an Assembly of Voices, among poets, sculptors, workers, architects, landscapers. The makers of the dream. www.palavras27.oeiras.pt/?page_id=2561

🌴🗿🌹🌳 The Park of Poets is a unique facility located in Oeiras whose geographical, environmental, and cultural circumstances make it one of the largest and most beautiful in the world. It is a great open-air metaphor, the raw material of a great poem whose verses were woven and written in the perfect dialogue between landscape, poetry, and sculpture. The project dates back to May 20, 1995, when two prominent figures of Portuguese culture met at the Verney Gallery: David Mourão Ferreira and Francisco Simões. From a joint exhibition of the work of these two masters of Portuguese culture, a friendship and an idea were built: to associate poetry and sculpture in a tribute to 20th-century Portuguese culture. Something that would constitute a distinctive mark of the Municipality of Oeiras and represent a homage to the legacy that poets and visual artists passed on to new generations of Portuguese people. The 20th century was just the starting point of a larger journey that spans several centuries and authors, including, in this group, all those writing in Portuguese, from the so-called diaspora, which would give rise to terms like lusophony, whose controversial nature raises questions, which we are aware of, but which does not deny the contamination of a linguistic heritage that is a genetic mark of peoples https://palavras27.oeiras.pt/?page_id=2561

Praia de Carcavelos is the largest and most famous beach on the coast connecting Lisbon to Cascais. Located about 20 kilometers west of the Portuguese capital, it is a stretch of golden sand about 1.5 kilometers long, world-renowned as a surfer's paradise and for its lively atmosphere. Surfer's Paradise: It is one of the most important spots in Portugal. Thanks to the constant waves of the Atlantic Ocean, it attracts both experienced surfers and beginners throughout the year. Clear but Cold Water: The water is very clean as it is located immediately after the estuary of the Tagus River. Being open ocean, the water temperature is always cool (ranging between 14°C in winter and 18°C in summer). The Historic Fort: On the eastern side of the beach stands the imposing Forte de São Julião da Barra. Built in the 16th century to defend the entrance to Lisbon, it is today the official residence of the Minister of Defense.
