St. Nora Lake offers a calm, reflective mood, with forest along the shore and quiet water close beside the path. Its name carries a fun twist: it was originally called “Senora’s Lake" by old lumbering companies, but the name evolved through mispronunciation into "Saint Nora."

This campsite is right on the shore of St. Nora Lake. It's a beautiful place to pause for a swim or just watch the water. It's also a great overnight base for hiking and canoeing the area. There are a couple of known canoe routes, with portages adding a proper backcountry twist. All campsites in the area are pretty remote and rustic, with a stone fire pit and a wooden toilet box. Barnum Creek Nature Reserve packs a lot of wild variety into its 7 kilometres of trails, from mature maple forest and wetlands to old farmland slowly returning to nature. Opened to the public in 2020, the reserve follows land shaped by First Nations use, farming history, and long-term forest stewardship. Watch for the creek’s changing moods as it moves from marshland to flowing water, and beaver ponds, creating habitat for herons, deer, moose, beavers, and plenty of birdlife.

This trail takes you out to the James Cooper Lookout and it can be taken as a short and steep out and back hike from North Shore Road, a shorter and less steep hike from Mifflin Road, or as a loop hike with a bit of road walking. However you decide to tackle this trail you'll be rewarded with great views over Beech Lake.

The old train station has an excellent public washroom (open 8am-8pm) with a great water fountain outside. Just behind the station is a convenience store (Shop N Safe) that has a custom sandwich counter and an ice cream counter. A nearby park has a massive gazebo for shelter. (And plenty of opportunities for stealth camping for those so inclined)

Incredibly preserved and renewed, this old CN railway station is now museum. You can learn about history of Victoria railway line that used to run this way. There is miniature train track that replicates the old railway. Close by gazebo and clean public washroom makes this a perfect rest stop on your tour. Also there are many food stores and restaurants in close proximity. Enjoy and respect
