The Elena mountain hut is a large and comfortable mountain hut hotel, mainly visited by hikers on the Tour du Mont Blanc. The old mountain hut was built in honor of Queen Elena, wife of Vittorio Emanuele II, but was destroyed by an avalanche. The view of the Pré de Bard glacier is breathtaking. A classic alpine refuge, starting point and destination for many great hikes. The refuge offers food, drinks and accommodation for all mountain lovers, and is the perfect place for a coffee before a ride or a beer after a ride, all in a spectacular alpine location. If you plan to stay overnight at the refuge, be sure to book in advance, as this refuge can be very popular during the summer months, partly because it is accessible by car and has a large parking, making it a great starting point for an adventure.
