Although various prohibition signs restrict access to Lake Meinhard, which is part of the local campsite, there are still some beautiful views with benches overlooking the former gravel pit in the Werra Valley.

A great, asphalted cycle path that leads past the fishing ponds of the ASV Eschwege and the Meinhardsee.

😎 In 2023 I rode along here with my brother on my first longer EBIKE TOUR from ESW to ESA. Then again the next day on the way back. What a fantastic picture. What a symphonic frog concert from the other bank of the Werra. What a wonderful cycle path between Hesse and Thuringia. The next time will be in 2024 on an e-bike tour with my partner from Eschwege-Niederhone through the beautiful Ringgau to Creuzburg and back to Eschwege. We enjoyed it. And I'm already looking forward to the next time. Sometime this year. 👋

The Popperode spring itself is nothing special. But the Popperode fountain house is a real eye-catcher. Together with the spring, it creates a great ensemble. The way the fountain house presents itself to the street is somewhat reminiscent of a stage. There are a few events a year, such as the fountain festival and the acoustic evening. Of course, you can also get fresh water directly from the spring.
