The Kranika moorland is located very close to the Lütjensee. It is 96 hectares in size and has been a nature reserve since 1993. Part of the area used to be covered by water, but later moors and wet meadows developed. Today, rare plants such as sundew and orchid grow here. Many animals, including frogs, grass snakes and various bird species, also call this area home. A number of beautiful hiking trails lead along the edges and information boards provide exciting insights.

We were unlucky that the path we had chosen led us into the wet moor and we couldn't continue. You can see that clearly on our tour. But many paths lead to the same goal :)

The Hoisdorf ponds are an ensemble of six individual ponds and their riparian zones are protected. The Hoisdorf ponds are located in the southeastern area of the municipality of Hoisdorf. In the west and north they are bordered by the Moorweg/Achtern Diek street and the grounds of the Lichtensee youth home conference center. The Jungfernstieg runs to the east and the village street with the historic village center runs to the southeast. There is a 4 km long hiking trail around the ponds through beautiful nature, which I can happily recommend. Unfortunately, you can't see much of the ponds themselves on the way, you can only catch a glimpse from a distance, but the nature reserve around them is very beautiful and also suitable for a short Sunday afternoon walk. Lots of nature and only a few people out and about, even on Sunday. https://www.stormarnlexikon.de/hoisdorferteiche/
