When I first saw the oak trees along the Stör Canal, I was deeply impressed by the beauty and grandeur of these sturdy trees. They are said to have stood along the dam for more than 140 years. The mighty oaks along the Banzkow Dam are, in my opinion, even more beautiful to behold. One can only hope that they don't fall victim to the tourism (commercial) expansion of the waterway one day. Bring a blanket, some food, and just sit and enjoy.

A real gem what it is located south-west of Schwerin. The landscape protection area Siebendörfer Moor is a fen that has its origins in the Ice Age. It was created from the silting up of a ground moraine lake and can now be safely accessed on foot or by bike on asphalted and paved paths.

A wooden bench stands in front of a large tree at an intersection. A yellow sign with a black owl indicates the nature reserve "Kiesgrube Wüstmark". The area, which has been designated as a nature reserve since 1990, is around 16 hectares in size and includes a former gravel mine with adjacent forest with nutrient-poor soils and water.

Large nature reserve with many water ditches and fields to enliven the bog. The paths are easy to walk or cycle (grass, fine gravel or completely asphalted) and there are cows, sheep and some species of birds and insects on the meadows.

The Siebendörfer Moor is located southwest of Schwerin and is a fen, which was created by silting a Grundmoränensees. Until the 1920s peat was turfed on small areas. Now it is a protected landscape area and is partly used as pastureland. Through targeted irrigation, the moor is revived. This contributes significantly to species, biotope and climate protection. The moor is not only a breeding ground for many species of birds, but also resting and wintering grounds for gray geese and cranes. Through the moor lead paths that are partially paved. Here you can hike well and ride a bike even in bad weather. Watching the birds is possible from a safe distance, you should have a pair of binoculars.

In Friedrichsmoor - in the midst of the Waldlewitz - you can get to know the legendary Lewitz and her characters. Here a forest adventure trail awaits to be explored by hikers and cyclists. This approximately four or twelve kilometer long circuit leads you from the hunting lodge Friedrichsmoor through the southwestern part of the Waldlewitz. At several stations you can get to know different mythical and fairy-tale creatures of the Lewitz and experience them through installations - robber Röpke for example, who is said to have lived at Sukow. You will also receive information on landscape history, forestry and natural history appropriate to the legend. Along the way are fabulous wooden sculptures designed by various artists. The forest adventure trail is signposted from Jagdschloss Friedrichsmoor. Station 14 tells the story of the White Woman and there is the appropriate board with flora and fauna Source: http://www.die-lewitz.de/aktivitaeten/wandern/walderlebnispfad/ http://www.die-lewitz.de/export/sites/lewitz/aktivitaeten/wandern/Flyer_Sagenpfad_Stand_12-2013.pdf
