Protection status From Treßsee to Tüdal, the area along the Treene is part of the Upper Treenelandschaft nature conservation project, which is up to 20 km² in size. To the north of the lake is the Düne am Treßsee nature reserve.

To the south, the Schleswig telecommunications tower can be seen in the distance. If visibility is good, the Bredstedt telecommunications tower can also be seen in the distance.
