Also in 2026 the trail park is great, the trails are wonderfully designed and maintained. Also the signage is great as soon as you understand the design. Since we were there on Pentecost, as a tip, rather use the Roter Stollen parking lot than directly at Hohen Gras. The restaurant operation, climbing forest and hikers create parking scarcity at peak times.

Helmets are mandatory, and protective gear is definitely recommended. Otherwise, just have fun.

The Hohes Gras Trail Park is open to the public and offers several singletrack and flow trails of varying difficulty, including one with a downhill section and a jump line. This means everyone should be able to find a route that suits their riding technique and can develop step by step or simply enjoy it. We were biking in Kassel during the week and stumbled upon the Trail Park by chance – since no one else was on the trails, we really got our money's worth. 😁 Using the Trail Park is free, but you can voluntarily donate to the trail maintenance using a barcode at the top of the shelter at the top station by the ski lift. Our 💶 should have arrived. Thank you to the organizers of the Habichtswald Nature Park Association – very good job! 👍👍👍 I can only give my highest recommendation! 😉

It starts flat and gets steeper towards the end, which requires a bit of technique with the bike.

The lake is enchanted and lies in the forest and was created by mining. Today it is a valuable biotope.
