Meanwhile, the trail park has become quite run-down, as the trails are no longer maintained. However, you can still ride there quite well; unfortunately, the trail signage is absolutely non-existent. There are still a few entrance signs to the trails, but these trails have so many junctions that you don't even know where the blue or red line continues. There are simply many intersections. A few arrows at the junctions would already be nice. You should take an E-MTB full suspension bike. The only good bikes are offered by Bike International, but E-bikes have to be rented for two days. Therefore, I went to another rental company, whose hardtail Haibikes are absolutely unsuitable. Poor tires, poor front suspension, simply worn out. Unfortunately, despite the good offroad area, there are hardly any rental companies for mountain bikes there.

Be careful, play with the shadows… I also had a mega jump, which I was able to catch well… I hope you all have fun on this trail… I’ll be back, no question

It's fast, quite a descent... Watch out for mosquito bites... And wear the right clothing. Nothing can go wrong.

It's a great ride... going uphill is no problem at all... going downhill, we all know that, eyes open and through 😉

Majorca is known for its extensive natural mountain biking trail networks rather than traditional bike parks with lifts. You'll find diverse terrain, from technical singletracks winding through olive groves and rocky landscapes to scenic coastal paths and forestry roads. The island caters to all skill levels, offering everything from leisurely rides to challenging ascents and descents.
For challenging and technical trails, the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range is a prime location. This UNESCO World Heritage site features technical singletracks, rocky terrain, and dramatic elevation changes. Routes like the one from Esporles to Deià offer significant climbs and descents. Another challenging option is the Rocky Gravel Trail (Mountain Bikes Only), which is specifically designed for mountain bikes with stone rocks and gravel roads.
Yes, you can find flowy trails in Majorca. For instance, Justy's Flow Trail is mostly flowy with some rocky and root sections, making it suitable for mountain bikes. It can be ridden in both directions and offers a fun experience on forest floor, stone, and rubble.
Many mountain biking areas in Majorca offer spectacular views. The Serra de Tramuntana provides breathtaking views of dramatic peaks, deep valleys, and coastal cliffs. The Bonaire Singletrail also offers wonderful views over the sea. Additionally, trails in Na Burguesa (near Palma) provide good views towards the sea and inland, while Sa Comuna (near Bunyola) offers clear views of the Bay of Palma from higher elevations.
Near Palma, Na Burguesa is an excellent and easily accessible option. It offers a mix of forestry roads for less advanced riders and more technical singletrack sections with rock gardens and steep climbs for experienced mountain bikers. It's considered a perfect recreational area for cyclists staying in the city.
While Majorca's mountain biking is often geared towards intermediate to advanced riders, areas like Na Burguesa offer forestry roads that are ideal for less advanced riders, which can be suitable for families. The Pine Forest Singletrack Trail, with its soft forest floor and pleasant shade, could also be a good option for a more relaxed ride.
Majorca's trails showcase diverse natural beauty. In the Serra de Tramuntana, you'll ride through olive groves, rocky terrain, and lush forests, often with dramatic mountain and coastal views. The Llevant Natural Park features rugged mountains, unspoiled coastline, and rolling rural valleys. You'll also find pine forests, such as along the Pine Forest Singletrack Trail, and Mediterranean Holm Oak forests in areas like Sa Comuna.
The best time for mountain biking in Majorca is typically during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these seasons, the weather is mild and pleasant, avoiding the intense heat of summer and the cooler, potentially wetter conditions of winter. This allows for comfortable riding and optimal trail conditions.
Visitors appreciate the variety and natural beauty of Majorca's trails. Many highlight the stunning views, the challenge of technical sections, and the enjoyment of riding through diverse landscapes like pine forests and rocky paths. Trails like Puig de Bonany Trail are noted for being beautiful forest trails, while the Bonaire Singletrail is praised for its varied terrain and continuous flow.
Absolutely! Majorca offers a wide range of outdoor activities. You can explore easy hikes, such as the Cala Beltrán and Mirador des Carril circular route or the Palma Old Town Trail. For road cycling enthusiasts, there are numerous routes, including challenging ones like the Faro de Formentor round trip. Running trails are also popular, with options like the Talaia d'Alcudia and Penya des Migdia circular trail.
The Llevant Natural Park, located near Artà, offers a unique mountain biking experience with rugged mountains, unspoiled coastline, and rolling rural valleys. You'll find scenic routes that include coastal paths and provide beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea. It's an excellent area for medium-difficulty trails, often requiring good fitness.
