I was lucky and was able to ride this section downhill, but great caution is still required.

Switchback heaven Berofosse

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Very nice descend on a single track on a steep hillside. It starts with a technical drop and rock garden after the first switchback and than you go down for 6 more switchbacks. If it is your first time doing this trail, be careful.

Enduro Downhill Rock Garden

Highlight (Segment) • MTB Park

This was a especially prepared section for the enduro event which took place. Very steep, narrow with several drops and blocked rock garden sections. CAUTION: I would not recommend to take this if you are un-experienced rider or if you are afraid of height as some sections are pretty dangerous if you fall and you look straight down and very little room to move off the line. BUT: That whole hill holds plenty of lines. Worth to spend more time here to explore all the trails.

From the Hoëgne, the 60m climb uphill to Berofosse seems like a serious climb, were it not for the beautiful, long zigzag path that makes it much easier. Near the top, you pass the ruins of a medieval tower from which the Hoëgne valley was surveyed. No further information is available.

In my opinion, this is the toughest climb in the Ardennes. The gradient increases significantly as you turn, reaching 20% in the middle section. Your legs don't get any real rest until you reach the drag lift with mountain bikers, and then, as a final treat, you have to push hard. Not the most beautiful climb, but the one you'll reach the top with the most pride and the highest heart rate.

Only the two blue lines are rideable for every mountain biker. There are always some very difficult passages in the red lines. I have not tested the black lines.

Very steep climb. It's almost impossible to go down because you're constantly on the brakes and the road is hard to see. If you're also dealing with oncoming traffic, it gets tricky. So brake well!!!
