During the division of Germany from 1945 to 1988, the line was part of the most important long-distance connection between northern and southern Germany in the Trizone and the Federal Republic of Germany. Source: Wikipedia On May 1, 1872, the Gemünden–Jossa line was opened, and Burgsinn became the main station.
