It's not easy to get down to the dam, 600m elevation difference, but if you are staying in Grizzly mountain resort make a day trip with visit to the beach. Road is closed at the dam so you won't be able to get down to the Treska river. There is a small church of Saint Nicholas right at the dam with nice gazebo for your lunch break. Interesting facts about the dam is that's built in 1994 with only rocks and wet clay, no concrete at all. Enjoy and respect

This side road will take you down to the lake and boat launch with nice sandy access for relaxing swim. Water was beautiful and warm. It's recommended to bring bathing suit as you could run in to some fishermans. Enjoy and respect

We didn't find a cafe with baklava here, but the view was amazing! Our baklava was in Trnica (about 7 km further towards Dolno/Debar).

Access from the R2235 via unpaved road. There is no sign, it is a “wild place”. Ideal for overnight stays (free of charge) with fire pits. Please take your rubbish with you, unfortunately there is already far too much of it lying around here.

In August 2023, the water level in Lake Mavrovo was so low that the church was used again for church services and events.
