The castle was built shortly after 1330 by Ctibor Morava, the heir to the Otaslavic manor. Brníčko was completely destroyed during the wars between Jiří z Poděbrady and Matyáš Korvín. In 1471, the castle was captured by followers of Matyáš Corvín - the infamous black company of Matyáš's warlord Franc z Háje (called "Terrible Franc" among the army and the people) and the lords of Zvola. After the most necessary repairs, the castle was still used, but it is already mentioned as demolished in 1513. Mapy.cz

In construction. Nice facade. The restaurant outside is poor, fenced with an ugly fence.

The castle park was founded in 1602 as a Renaissance garden. In the 18th century, it was transformed into a baroque French park. At the beginning of the 19th century, it was rebuilt again in the form of an English landscape park. In 1531, the original water fortress was modified into a Renaissance castle by Jan the Younger from Žerotín. It was further expanded at the end of the 17th century with a Baroque two-story wing with arcaded corridors. The castle interiors are an imprint of the influence of times from the Renaissance to Classicism. During the visit, you have the opportunity to see the masterpieces of Italian, Flemish and Dutch painters living in the 17th and 18th centuries, the armory with a unique collection of rifles and pistols by leading masters of the field, or the knight's hall with a Renaissance coffered ceiling. An interesting fact is that this place became famous for the infamous witch trials, which inspired Václav Kaplický to write the book Kladivo na charodějnice. A park with the remains of baroque sculptural decoration stretches around.

Permanent gallery of the academic painter Lubomír Bartoš On the third floor of the castle, there is a gallery of academic painter Lubomír Bartoš presenting a cross-section of the artist's work. It was established in 2002. The master's typical handwriting can be found especially on oil paintings, still lifes, portraits and above all on landscape paintings with motifs from his favorite region, Northern Moravia.
