The little church of Sant'Antonio, located approximately halfway up the Serrai di Sottoguda gorge, was built in ancient times with the specific purpose of protecting travelers who ventured into the gorge, which until a few decades ago was the only route to Malga Ciapela and the Fassa Valley. Originally dedicated to Saint Anthony the Abbot, protector of animals, following a mass slaughter, it was later dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, whose feast day is June 13th. This was to allow the population to more easily reach the church for Holy Mass during a more favorable time of year, such as spring. It was renovated in 1880. In 1934, a plaque was placed there in memory of those who fell in the First World War on the Marmolada front. The two frescoes on the side transepts of the entrance door depict Saint Sebastian and Saint Rocco, patron saints of the church of Sottoguda.

After leaving the beautiful Lake Mis behind, the gorge narrows and the road gains a little height, passing through successive galleries and tunnels dug directly into the rock. It's a wonderful place that rivals the Sottoguda Gorge on the climb to Marmolada.

Highly recommended! I rode the route from the south towards the Dolomites on my racing bike. The reservoir shines a wonderful light green in the sunshine between the wooded slopes and the mountains. At the northern end you go through tunnels and the mountain stream that forms the inflow comes out. Good road conditions. Little and quiet traffic. I don't know how far you can drive by car or motorbike. The tunnels are definitely quite narrow. A must for cyclists, even racing bikes!

The Mis Valley is located in the Belluno Dolomites and connects Valbelluna to the province of Trento. In the lower part of the valley, crossed by the homonymous stream, there is a picturesque artificial lake with crystalline waters.

Just below the bridge, an upward viewpoint allows you to take a spectacular photo with the person on the bridge. No special equipment is required, just a good dose of salt in the pumpkin so you don't swing, the bridge must be crossed with the bikes by hand and you don't group on the bridge.

During this period, the waterfalls are active, and the natural landscapes are at their most vibrant. Winter offers a different, more challenging experience, especially for ice climbing in certain areas.

It's advisable to check local conditions before planning a visit, as some sections may still be undergoing repairs or have restricted access.

For independent canyoning, it's always recommended to check with local authorities or tourist information centers regarding specific regulations or permits for certain routes, especially those involving protected areas or private land.
'El Cor' (The Heart) is a mythical heart-shaped rock formation carved into the rock face within the Valle di San Lucano. You can learn more about it on the Visit Dolomiti Bellunesi website.
