Probierloch Pond

Highlight • Lake

Remnant of a sounding boring
Here there is a peculiarly rectangular water surface, which is covered in the summer of the half of the Kleine Wasserlinse sit and for example, frogs, newts and LIebellen habitat offers. The small pond dates back to 1874 when a Langenthal-St. Urabn - Altbüron - Ebersecken - Schötz - Wauwil should arise. It is called a trial hole and was created during the clarification of the geological conditions of a sounding excavation.
Construction began in 1874. At times, up to 800 workers were involved. Above all, the tunneling in Altbüron LU, which is located six kilometers southwest of here. 1875 is characterized by a financial crisis, which set the railroads particularly bad. Later efforts to resume the work failed.
But today we have an intact forest, for those in need of the outdoors, like me and you.

Inkwilersee

Highlight • Lake

A wonderful gem in the immediate vicinity of Herzogenbuchsee.
Water frogs croak around the weather. The divers proudly show off their four young, which, intriguingly, have red heads, while their parents, typical of divers, have white "mirrors" vertically across their foreheads and noses.
Highly recommended if, like me, you're out on your new eBike for the first time, to experience all the features an eBike offers, such as: Rohloff gears, automatic seat post, ABS brakes, Komoot, no wait:
Simply everything you've known from your "biobike" for 60 years, and now feels wonderful with electric assistance. And: If you wanted, you could also go 45 km/h. But 36 km/h in Bosch Limit mode, i.e. 11 km/h entirely under your own muscle power, is all the more fun, and in weather made for the gods.

The name "Steibachweiher". The pond, actually three, between the two villages of Berken and Walliswil near Wangen is very beautiful and very pleasantly cool even at high temperatures.

In about 2.5 hours you can take a wonderful hike from the zoo along the Kobold Trail to Aspisee. I have rarely walked through such a pretty forest. In many places you feel like you are in a fairytale book. Lots of moss, special trees and wonderful winding paths. After a rainy day you run the risk of getting wet feet on some sections of the route ;-)

The Burgäschisee, sometimes also simply Aeschisee, lies on the canton border of the cantons of Bern and Solothurn, with around two thirds on the Solothurn canton area. The lake is located in the municipalities of Aeschi (SO) and Seeberg (BE) at an altitude of 465 meters above sea level. The lake is fed by the Füürstein Canal, while the Seebach flows out. The natural lake is almost 700m long and 500m wide and is surrounded by a forest and reeds. The lake is located in a nature reserve.
