The Žagarė oasis, the longest in the Baltic countries, begins right there in the town of Žagarė, which is about 50 km long. It is a long and narrow ridge of sand and gravel formed by glaciers, which the Žagarė ozo educational trail introduces you to. While walking along the path, you can visit the Žvelgaitis mound, which stands at the very beginning of the oasis, and the cemetery of freethinkers, which is located next to it and has an intriguing name. The panorama of Žvelgaičiai lake, which spreads between the ridges of the ozon, opens from the nearby spider-web-shaped lookout point. While walking along the path around the lake, you can discover a gushing spring, see the remains of a water mill that are about to freeze, climb a small observation tower, but perhaps the most beautiful part of the path is Love Island, to which a pontoon bridge has been built. After walking along the path in the warm season, you can relax in the recreational area near the Žvelgaičiai lake. There is a modern recreation area here, and there are several beaches.

The educational trail of Mūšas Tyrelis was opened in 2015. March. and is the longest boardwalk in the swamp, included in the Lithuanian record book. The length of the boardwalk is 3605.87 m, the total length of the trail one way is 4480 m, and to walk the entire trail, you need to cover more than 8 km. in 2019 In the spring, the installation works of the second stage of the educational trail were also completed, during which the boardwalk was extended by another 2 km. So from now on, the educational trail of Mūšas tyrel is even more attractive - it winds around the reserve. The educational trail of Mūšas tyrelios is located in an exceptional and valuable natural area - the Mūšas tyrelios telemological reserve, which is included in the Žagarė regional park as an "island" - without a direct connection to the rest of the park's territory. This unique natural complex of Northern Lithuania consists of a high bog, an intermediate bog, a low bog, peatlands and wet forests. In the southern part of the swamp, the rivers Mūša and Juodupis begin, in the eastern part there is a natural Miknaičiai lake and many small lakes. The reserve is included in the list of territories of the NATURA 2000 network. The Directorate of the Žagarė Regional Park invites you to get acquainted with a unique corner of nature untouched by man while traveling along the educational trail of Mūšas tyrel. It is possible to visit the Mūšas Tyrelis educational trail on your own without being accompanied by the staff of the directorate. But please be serious, don't make noise. You won't find any trash cans along the trail (except for the rest area at the beginning of the trail). This was not done for nothing. Be responsible and understanding - take what we brought with us. Let's respect and protect nature! A fire in Mūšas tyrilės bog would destroy this unique natural complex irreversibly, fire engines would not be able to enter the area of the bog, and extinguishing burning peat would be extremely difficult. Therefore, in 2015 Mūšas Tyrelis educational trail has been declared a non-smoking zone by the decision of the Joniškis District Municipal Council.
