The Mecklenburger Weg is an old and scenic route to Prerow, passing the Buchhorster Maase. There, you'll find a thatched hunting lodge built in the 1980s for guests of the East German state hunt. Today, it's no longer in active use. Until reunification in 1989, large parts of the Darß area were a restricted area. Several panels on the building inform about the history of the Buchhorster Maase. Nearby, there's a large memorial stone for the forester, Baron Kurt von der Recke, and a circular pavilion. Please note: cycling is not permitted on the trail!

When the smell of sausages fills the air and the old oaks gently rustle their leaves in the wind, then you have arrived at the Sundische Wiese café garden. Just 8 kilometers from Zingst, this hidden gem is located directly on the cycle path to Pramort. With the first warm rays of spring sun, our café garden opens its kiosk windows every day and numerous picnic benches and a wide range of food invite you to relax and unwind in nature. Until autumn, our beautifully located outdoor dining area offers drinks and food under large umbrellas. I can't understand why people cycle along here. The Mecklenburger Weg is clearly a hiking trail. And it also has a wooden barrier. It's a shame that some people don't stick to this and ruin this wonderful path. I can only recommend that every hiker put a thick branch on the path every now and then. If you're lucky you can see some animals here and you can hear endless birds.

The princely cattle yard was also first mentioned in 1532. A border dispute between Stralsund, Barth and Zingst resulted in border stones being set on the peninsula. One of these boundary stones can still be seen today. This can be found at the so-called “Dreiländereck” in the Osterwald on Zingst.
