Can be smelly at times, but a great place with a peaceful surrounding for a quick snack

This is an absolute gem of a place to visit. It was once the area owned by the wealthy Smith family but the great hall that was here was demolished in 1900. It now boasts a beautiful wooded area, a skate park, Smiths Pool and many other recreational facilities.

My favourite spot along the walk. There are a couple of thoughtfully positioned resting benches here too.

This has pretty much kept to the same plan as when it was officially opened for Queen Victoria's Jubilee. It has an icecream van by the play area every weekend. It has a skate board park, football fields, 2 large courts, outdoor gym, bowling greens, table tennis, bandstand and LOTS of friendly resident squirrels. Come with a frisbee, picnic and change for a Mr Whippy and you are in for a nice family day out. (They are currently putting a tea room in too which should be operational by summertime.)
