Located on private land. It looks as is someone has tried to climb the wall as it’s collapsed in places. Farmer, understandably had added additional barbed wire.

The car park is free for National Trust members. I love climbing but I don't like heights....confusing I know! I really enjoyed this short climb but I found myself on a small scramble which got my blood pumping a little!

Yes, if you wish to avoid the busiest spots, consider exploring other areas or routes. For example, when visiting Bunster Hill, some visitors recommend parking in Ilam and taking a less-traveled route to the summit to experience fewer crowds compared to the Dovedale car parks and the popular stepping stones area.

What should I wear for hiking in the Ramshorn peaks, especially in winter?

For hiking in the Ramshorn peaks, especially during colder months, it's essential to dress in layers. Waterproof and windproof outer layers are recommended, along with warm base layers. Sturdy hiking boots with good grip are crucial for the often steep and potentially slippery terrain. Always check the weather forecast before heading out and be prepared for sudden changes, as conditions can vary quickly at higher elevations.
