An ideal location in the 'jaws' of Borrowdale for exploring the surrounding fells, from the most diminutive Wainwright in Castle Crag to the tallest in Scafell Pike. There's a variety of lodging options, from rooms and log cabins to tent pitches (sold per person). Facilities include a drying room, self-catering kitchen, cafe-bar and restaurant.

Great mountain. Clouds came down and then blew away to reveal shear drops and amazing vistas only feet away. The wind, mist and driving rain all added to the atmosphere. Striding and Swirral edge are no pushovers so be prepared and this is in July.
