Loch Achaidh na h-Inich

Highlight • Viewpoint

Do not be fooled by the paved road. This ends at the bottom of the lake and a beautiful hiking trail begins. Before that, make a stop at the lake, unpack a picnic, enjoy your feet in the water and enjoy peace and quiet ...

Broadford is the second largest town on the Isle of Skye and end point of the Skye Trail. It has some nice places to eat, plenty of B&B, a hostel, a few hotels, bank, pharmacy and a Coop Food store.

You can take the Citylink bus to Inverness or Glasgow or a local bus to some other town.

While the little monument you see from the roadside may not look like much, walk up to it and follow the little trail that leads into the woodland behind the monument and within a few steps you are high above the loch with lovely views over to Duncraig and across the loch.

Broadford is a must visit place while on Skye. With amazing views across Broadford Bay to the mainland and Beinn na Caillich towering above this village is very scenic. There are also many places to eat and drink (I do recommend them all) and with plenty of nice walks nearby.
