The stable in Đakovo was founded way back in 1506, which ranks it among the oldest stables in Europe and speaks of the long tradition of horse breeding in the area. Lipizzaner horses were bred at the Stud at the beginning of the 19th century. Today, as the State Stud in Đakovo, it uses two locations for horse breeding and selection - Pastuharna, located in the heart of Đakovo, and Ivandvor, in the immediate vicinity of the city. In addition to the breeding and selection of horses, the stable also deals with dressage, the quality of which is confirmed by taking notable places at equestrian competitions.

In Roman antiquity, the settlement of Certissia was located on the same site, until it disappeared during the migrations. The first mention of the settlement in historical documents dates back to 1239, when Béla IV of Hungary gave it to the bishopric of Bosnia. Source Wikipedia.
