Emerging from the ground, this spring is quite a reliable water source along the Oregon Desert Trail. Since it is pretty shallow, you should bring something to scoop the water and then treat it. Although the ground is muddy, the water is nice and clear.

Hart Bar is an access point into the Warner Wetlands. The wetlands are remnants of a huge ancient lake and consist of a 40-mile chain of lakes separated by dunes. It is an important habitat for water fowl and migrating birds. Since there is no outlet to the lakes, some unique species can be found here like the endemic Warner Lakes Redband Trout and the Warner Sucker, a rare species of ray-finned fish. There is a trail register and pit toilets at the trailhead.

This is a huge site where you can find tons of ancient petroglyphs. Native people have been living in this area for thousands of years, so some of the rock art dates back some to 12,000 years ago. Almost every larger rock has rock art which consists of illustrations like circles, animals, and humans and much more. Take your time to explore this unique place and leave it like it was.

Honey Creek has its headwaters in the Fremont-Winema National Forest, relatively close to Abert Rim. It flows into Hart Lake just a few yards from here. Due to lots of agriculture around Plush, it is not recommended as a water source.

The small town of Plush is a one-stop kind of trail town. Restaurant, bar, store, WiFi, and post office: all this can be found in the Hart Mountain Store. There are three cozy places that you can rent via airbnb and you can rent a cabin at Hart Mountain Cabin. If you cannot get enough from pitching your tent or if you want to save some money, you can camp in the community park for free. You will find a water spigot, picnic benches, and a pit toilet. Keep in mind that the sprinklers might come on at night. Opening hours for Hart Mountain Store: 8 am to 8 pm Please label your package as follows: "Hold for ODT hiker, ETA"
