This lake is almost circular in shape and is 170 meters long and 140 meters wide, with its deepest point measuring an impressive 11 meters. Surrounded by dense forest, Lake Hertha reflects the bright foliage and shines in the most magnificent colors, especially in the golden autumn. The route there takes hikers directly from the visitor car park in Hagen or from the Königsstuhl National Park Center through the impressive forest of the national park. On the north-eastern shore of the lake stands Herthaburg, a mighty rampart that witnessed Slavic settlement between the 8th and 12th centuries. But be warned, bicycles, even if pushed, are not allowed here. This place belongs to pedestrians to enjoy the atmosphere undisturbed.
