The Lemon Squeezer is a small but famous narrow rock passage on the Appalachian Trail (AT) in Harriman State Park, NY, near Island Pond. Hikers on the Appalachian Trail (AT) aren't the only ones who have to (or can) squeeze through a narrow gap between the rocks. In winter, when ice is present, it won't always be possible. For those who don't want to squeeze through, there's a fun climbing option to the left of the rock formation or a slightly less difficult detour. This spot is sure to be unforgettable.

A small, well-protected shelter along the trail, perfect for an overnight stay. The shelter is basic but has everything you need for camping in the forest. Fingerboard Shelter tends to get busier on weekends.

These radio towers overlook Earl Reservoir Park and are in the middle of the Highlands Trail. If you come up the singletrack trail from Earl Reservoir Park, be ready for a steep uphill and downhill!

Schunnemunk Mountain reaches up to an elevation of 1,664 feet, but the best views come just after the summit. Turn down the spur trail named "Monoliths Trail" and walk to the end (it's just a couple hundred feet long). This summit has a huge clearing that offers pretty expansive views.

The ascent/descent from the Reservoir Trail is SUPER STEEP. This approach is only recommended for those in good shape... and bring hiking poles!

The Lemon Squeezer is a very fun section of the trail. You walk through openings created by various rock formations and will need to "squeeze" to make it through a narrow spot. You will need to use your hands, but it's nothing too physical - really, it's just fun!
