Good highway with a wide shoulder runs along the mostly flat edge of the Mohave. Passing miles of electricity wind mills, here also crossing some streams that might have water in winter.

This delightful and informative museum stands in place of the original Tehachapi Depot that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. Unfortunately the original building was destroyed in a fire in 2008, but this rebuilt replica is still listed in the register.
