The main metrolink bike path goes through South West Illinois College. The Dr Tom Amlung Nature Trail coincides with the Metrolink trail and is very nice. there are educational displays along the short section that explains the flora and fauna of the area. USE care when on this section as it does have quite a bit of foot traffic.

This loop is part of the Metrolink Bike path system in St. Clair County IL. This also part of the Metro East Parks & Recreation District. you can find detailed trail map at: https://meprd.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=81f3ce9f13a1440c8daad68a9491b9da this trail goes right through an active commercial orchard and onto meet the main trail about 3 miles north. the trail is asphalt, very well kept and the only road crossing has a crossing light that can be button activated.
